Software Test Engineer – API & Integration Testing

About the role

We are a fast‑growing retailer based just outside Chester, looking for an ambitious Test Engineer with strong API and integration testing experience to join our technology team. You will play a key role in assuring the quality, reliability and performance of integrations across a complex technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute integration, API, regression and non‑functional tests across complex systems and third‑party platforms.
• Validate data flows, transformation, authentication, error handling and business rules between applications.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, Appium and related frameworks.
• Investigate defects using logs, metrics and telemetry, and support release and post‑deployment verification.
• Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

Required profile

• 2+ years of software testing experience, preferably with a focus on API and integration testing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• API testing tools such as Postman.
• Automation frameworks like Playwright and/or Appium.
• Version control systems (e.g., GitHub).
• Agile delivery environments.
• Azure DevOps for test management.
