Special Education Teacher (2‑19 years)

About the role

Montacute School is a vibrant all‑age special school dedicated to children and young people aged 2‑19 with Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD). We are seeking a passionate teacher who can deliver high‑quality, personalised education and celebrate each pupil’s progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and adapt lessons for pupils with complex needs across the full age range.
• Use creative and flexible approaches to support small but vital steps of progress.
• Collaborate with senior staff, teaching assistants and external specialists to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil development, adjusting strategies as required.
• Communicate effectively with families and contribute to individual education plans.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (any subject) with a genuine interest in special education.
• Experience or strong enthusiasm for working with children and young people with special needs.
• Flexible, creative, energetic and driven to support pupil achievement.
• Willingness to work in an inclusive, multi‑age setting.
