Sprinkler Design Engineer – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join a nationwide sprinkler company based in Manchester. You will be responsible for creating complete sprinkler system designs, coordinating with clients, architects and other trades, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed sprinkler system designs in collaboration with client representatives and other service contractors.
• Monitor design progress against construction programmes and specification requirements.
• Prepare and issue completion documents and certifications.
• Attend site meetings independently to address design matters.
• Produce working drawings in line with design codes, performing hydraulic calculations to size pipes.
• Generate material lists, coordinate procurement, and monitor equipment levels.
• Support the Project Manager/Design Manager with additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in sprinkler design engineering.
• Strong knowledge of BS EN 12845 and Factory Mutual standards.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving skills.
