Staff Nurse – Woodland View, Ayrshire Central Hospital

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join the multidisciplinary team on Ward 1, Woodland View, a busy 30‑bed general rehabilitation ward at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This permanent, part‑time role offers a flexible 23‑hour week on a rotational day/night shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to patients on the rehabilitation ward.
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure evidence‑based practice.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update clinical documentation.
• Supervise and mentor nursing students and junior staff as required.
• Adhere to NHS policies, health and safety standards, and infection control procedures.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Knowledge of NHS Ayrshire & Arran policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across day, night and weekend shifts.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and patient care planning.
• Medication administration and monitoring.
• Use of electronic patient record systems.
