About the role
Alcon is seeking a Surgical Account Manager to lead sales activities within cataract departments across London. You will act as the single point of contact for clinical and non‑clinical customers, driving growth of intra‑ocular lenses (IOLs) and related cataract products.
Key responsibilities
- Own total Alcon sales performance and market share for the IOL portfolio within assigned accounts.
- Monitor consumables availability, manage equipment leads and support stock management.
- Gather customer insights and translate them into commercial execution plans.
- Provide end‑to‑end support for cataract customers, coordinating specialist activities and market‑access initiatives.
- Map decision‑making processes, build relationships with key stakeholders and represent Alcon in a consultative manner.
- Generate demand, negotiate contracts and prepare quotes.
- Liaise with product experts for technical or clinical queries.
- Organise local events, track competitor activity and convert competition through value‑based selling.
Required profile
- Proven sales experience in a theatre or surgical environment.
- Consultative B2B selling experience, preferably in high‑end medical devices.
- Experience interacting with medical and non‑medical staff; ophthalmology background is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally within a matrix organisation.
- Strong business acumen and ability to demonstrate value concepts.
