About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to provide supply cover across a variety of primary, secondary and SEND schools in Wigan. You will work directly with teachers and pupils, helping to maintain a positive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support small groups or individual pupils (1:1, 1:2 or 1:3) during lessons and activities.
- Assist the classroom teacher with preparation, supervision and classroom management.
- Provide behaviour management support and help maintain a safe, inclusive setting.
- Cover day‑to‑day bookings, with the possibility of longer‑term assignments.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
- Basic teaching‑related qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete training).
Required skills
- SEN/SEMH awareness.
- Strong behaviour management abilities.
What we offer

- Daily rates from £90 to £110, negotiable based on experience.
