Team Leader – Offender Career Support

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident Team Leader to work with offenders in custody, helping them prepare for employment on release. The role involves leading a dispersed team of careers advisors to engage prisoners in learning, training and job opportunities, aiming to break the cycle of re‑offending.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a dispersed team of careers advisors working with people serving custodial sentences.
• Develop and deliver learning, training and employment programmes tailored to offenders.
• Ensure participants are ready to start a new life on release and meet individual targets.
• Maintain quality and compliance standards required by the contract.
• Collaborate with prison staff and external partners to facilitate opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with offenders.
• Proven experience of line‑managing staff and enabling them to fulfil their potential.
• Experience managing teams that support offenders or other vulnerable groups.
• Ability to connect with people, work in a prison environment and meet compliance requirements.
