Technical Applications Scientist – French/Italian (6‑Month FTC)

About the role

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a Technical Applications Scientist to support customers in Europe and the UK. The role focuses on helping scientists design experiments, install and use Nanopore sequencing products, and analyse data.

Key responsibilities

• Provide front‑line applications support via email, phone and live chat for the Nanopore sequencing workflow.
• Assist customers with experimental design, product installation, wet‑lab and dry‑lab usage, data analysis and workflow validation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, identify customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
• Escalate complex problems to senior team members when necessary.
• Record all interactions accurately in the CRM system.

Required profile

• BSc degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Life Sciences or a related field.
• Solid understanding of NGS, genetics, molecular and cell biology.
• Fluent in French or Italian (C1 level).
• Strong technical competency to discuss experimental design, techniques and results.
• Approachable attitude that encourages customer interaction.
