About the role
Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a Technical Applications Scientist to support customers in Europe and the UK. The role focuses on helping scientists design experiments, install and use Nanopore sequencing products, and analyse data.
Key responsibilities
- Provide front‑line applications support via email, phone and live chat for the Nanopore sequencing workflow.
- Assist customers with experimental design, product installation, wet‑lab and dry‑lab usage, data analysis and workflow validation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, identify customer needs and propose appropriate solutions.
- Escalate complex problems to senior team members when necessary.
- Record all interactions accurately in the CRM system.
Required profile
- BSc degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Life Sciences or a related field.
- Solid understanding of NGS, genetics, molecular and cell biology.
- Fluent in French or Italian (C1 level).
- Strong technical competency to discuss experimental design, techniques and results.
- Approachable attitude that encourages customer interaction.
