Technical Architect

About the role

We are partnering with one of England's largest purpose‑driven not‑for‑profit organisations to lead a significant technology transformation. As a Technical Architect you will join a newly created architecture function and act as the design authority for a hybrid Microsoft Azure estate.

Key responsibilities

• Govern and shape architecture across cloud, networking, identity, integration, security and data domains.
• Participate in governance forums, produce high‑level designs (HLDs) and ensure architectural decisions are aligned with business goals.
• Challenge existing solutions, provide assurance, and define future‑state blueprints without being responsible for direct delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams to embed architectural standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an embedded internal architect rather than a short‑term consultant.
• Track record of influencing governance bodies and owning architectural decisions.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.
