Temporary Accountant – 3 to 6 months (London)

About the role

Our client, a large not‑for‑profit organisation in London, is seeking an immediate, temporary Accountant for a 3‑6 month assignment. You will work within the Finance Team, supporting month‑end processes, statutory reporting and cash management.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and process month‑end close‑down.
• Ensure timely ledger adjustments, bank reconciliations and journal postings.
• Maintain reconciliations of control accounts and prepare annual statutory accounts in Excel.
• Assist auditors with interim and final audit information.
• Manage parish income ledger, Direct Debit collections and suspense accounts.
• Act as signatory on electronic banking and oversee invoicing for rental properties.
• Serve as primary contact for the Xledger accounting system and drive reporting improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience with Xledger or a similar accounting system.
• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Available to start within one week.
