Trainee Oncology Pharmacist – Bristol

About the role

Join GenesisCare UK’s state‑of‑the‑art cancer care centre in Bristol as a Trainee Oncology Pharmacist. You will work alongside an expert team to develop specialist oncology pharmacy skills while supporting daily pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines management service to oncology patients.
• Deliver expert pharmaceutical advice in oncology and haematology, with training and support.
• Participate in procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines.
• Undertake clinical checking of chemotherapy prescriptions and support final release to nursing staff.

Required profile

• Experience in a hospital pharmacy environment.
• Strong interest in oncology/haematology with willingness to develop specialist knowledge.
• Experience dispensing medicines and managing medicines in a hospital setting.
• Exposure to screening and checking SACT prescriptions (or willingness to train).
• Experience with electronic prescribing systems.
• Background in clinical audit and/or practice research.
• Registered with the GPhC, holding a Pharm or BSc Pharmacy degree and completed pre‑registration training.
• Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (e.g., Clinical Diploma).
• Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society; BOPA membership or willingness to obtain.
• Independent Prescriber qualification is desirable.
