Transport Coordinator – UK Freight Forwarding

About the role

DP World is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Transport Coordinator to join its UK Transport Department (Freight Forwarding) in Manchester. You will work closely with internal teams and external haulage partners to ensure transport requirements are met efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and book transport with haulage partners according to customer requirements.
• Perform daily checks to ensure smooth and efficient transport operations.
• Monitor delivery performance and address any delays or service issues promptly.
• Communicate delivery updates to customers and manage expectations.
• Liaise with haulage partners to resolve operational issues.
• Prepare and distribute daily operational reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate transport records in the in‑house system.
• Collaborate with other operations departments and support department development.
• Work with suppliers to secure cost‑efficient transport solutions.

Required profile

• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Good geographical awareness of the UK road network.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
• Meticulous, organized, and able to deliver accurate work the first time.
• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt style to different audiences.
• Independent yet collaborative, reliable, and able to build strong relationships.
• Flexible and able to adjust to shifting priorities.
