Transport & Fleet Head – North London (FMCG)

About the role

The Transport & Fleet Head will lead the transport operations for a major FMCG wholesale partner, overseeing inbound and outbound logistics across the UK. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role is based near North London and manages four UK sites remotely through Operations Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Control, analyse and report on the total annual transport spend.
• Develop and manage annual transport plans, budgets and KPIs.
• Oversee a large vehicle fleet, ensuring compliance with quality and legislative standards.
• Plan, schedule and optimise transport networks to meet contractual service levels.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead change initiatives and implement innovative transport solutions.

Required profile

• National Certificate in Professional Competence (CPC).
• Significant senior‑level experience in transport operations within FMCG.
• Proven track record of managing large budgets and delivering cost efficiencies.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical/problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience leading multi‑site teams and driving strategic change.
