Utility Surveyor – Midlands based with nationwide travel

About the role

We are looking for experienced Utility Surveyors to join our award‑winning team delivering high‑quality utility mapping across the Midlands and the UK. The role involves on‑site data collection, processing and reporting for infrastructure, utilities and energy clients.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out utility surveys using EML, GPR and GPS equipment, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
• Process survey data with specialised software and produce accurate reports within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Follow all health, safety and legislative requirements (NRSWA, CDM, risk assessments, method statements).
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors and internal teams, attending meetings as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and development of new surveying methods or equipment.
• Maintain and calibrate company equipment and vehicles.
• For senior candidates: lead on‑site teams, mentor junior surveyors and oversee complex PAS128 mapping projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of utility surveying or closely related experience.
• ProQual Level 3 Certificate in Utility Mapping Surveyor (Level 5 preferred, especially for senior roles).
• Proven ability to deliver PAS128 compliant surveys.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to utility surveying.
