Water Treatment Plant Operative

About the role

Join Albert Bartlett’s Engineering Department at our potato packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire as a Water Treatment Plant Operative. You will be responsible for the daily operation and monitoring of the water treatment system, ensuring safe and compliant water quality for production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate daily water treatment tasks including chemical dosing, pressing off, and level checking.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical usage and water quality readings.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Manager to order chemicals and supplies.
• Assist maintenance engineers with planned and reactive plant maintenance activities.
• Check all site fuel tanks daily and report levels.
• Ensure the plant environment remains clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties such as grass cutting using tractor‑driven equipment when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in water treatment operations or related industrial/environmental roles (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for liaising with colleagues and management.
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual tasks.
