Year 2 Teacher – 1 Year Maternity Cover

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 primary teacher for a 12‑month maternity cover in a friendly South Birmingham school. The role starts at Easter and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact during a key period of the school year.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons for a Year 2 class.
- Assess, track and report on pupil progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff and parents.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Proactive and reflective approach to teaching.
