About the role
The Youth Pastor (South) will lead, disciple and nurture the spirituality of young people (ages 11‑18) at Gas Street Church South. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment where youth can grow in their faith and connect with the wider church community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care for young people aged 11‑18 and build relationships within the community.
- Plan and lead weekly Sunday and mid‑week youth programmes, including games, bible‑based teaching, worship and small‑group discussions.
- Organise social events that encourage friendship, fun and memorable experiences.
- Recruit, train and support a team of volunteers, empowering them to deliver the youth vision.
- Champion youth involvement in church life, creating opportunities for leadership, service and worship participation.
- Assist in delivering an annual weekend away for all Gas Street youth.
- Maintain administrative records, risk assessments, health & safety and safeguarding compliance.
- Collaborate with the Location Pastor, Kids Pastor and wider youth ministry team.
Required profile
- A deep passion for working with young people and helping them grow spiritually.
- Excellent pastoral, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Proactive, self‑motivated with strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Commitment to Christian faith and integrity; occupational requirement to be a Christian.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and adhere to safeguarding policies.
What we offer
- Part‑time permanent role (18.75 hours per week).
- 25 days annual leave (pro‑rata) plus statutory bank holidays and up to three additional Christmas days.
- Three retreat days per year (pro‑rata) and a generous TOIL policy for evening/weekend flexibility.
