Business Development Manager – North England

About the role
Our client, a family‑run SME supplying equipment and consumables to care homes across the UK, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join the team covering the North of England. You will turn opportunities into committed customers, guiding prospects through the sales pipeline until they are ready to be handed over to the Sales team.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the North of England.
- Convert qualified leads into active sales opportunities through discovery conversations.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date pipeline, ensuring clear next actions and consistent follow‑up.
- Lead or support discovery meetings, present solutions and value propositions, and build credibility with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Head of Business Development and Business Development Executive on pipeline strategy and deal progression.
- Coordinate hand‑over to the Sales team for onboarding and long‑term account growth.
- Monitor market trends, target sectors and feed insights back to the commercial team.
Required profile
- Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably within the healthcare or equipment supply sector.
- Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and meet defined milestones.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with sales and development colleagues.
Required skills
- CRM (experience with maintaining accurate records and activity tracking).
