Casual Kitchen Porter – Hotel Kitchen Support

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Casual Kitchen Porter to join the team at the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle. This role supports the smooth operation of the hotel kitchen by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, checking temperatures and ensuring proper storage.
• Complete daily and weekly deep‑cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule and record sign‑offs.
• Follow the date/day labeling system set by the Head Chef.
• Maintain a clean, safe and tidy work area using a ‘clean as you go’ approach.
• Monitor stock levels of clean crockery and utensils to guarantee sufficient supply.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a 4‑star hotel is desirable, but full training is provided.
• Good communication skills with a positive, energetic attitude.
• Physically fit – the role involves standing and moving on your feet for most of the shift.
• Flexible availability for nights, weekends and holidays.
