About the role
This position is part of the friendly customer service team at Bath Building Society, supporting members both in‑branch and via digital channels. You will work across our Wood Street (central Bath) and Moorland Road (Oldfield Park) branches, with occasional duties at the Queen Square head office.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for savers visiting or calling the branch network.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, new account applications, passbook issuance, and account amendments.
- Handle standing order requests, fund transfers (including Faster Payments and CHAPS) accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Promote and support the use of Bath Online services.
- Answer queries on the full range of Society accounts, including specialist business and professional accounts.
- Participate in customer relationship management and retention initiatives, meeting annual targets.
- Take ownership of customer complaints, record them, and forward to the appropriate department.
- Follow compliance procedures, flag suspected money‑laundering activity, and complete annual compliance training.
Required profile
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer‑focused attitude with a commitment to delivering personalised service.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Comfortable handling cash and financial transactions.
- Willingness to work a regular Monday‑Friday schedule with occasional Saturday mornings.
