Internal Auditor – Leeds

About the role

The Internal Auditor will join a well‑established business services organisation in Leeds, playing a pivotal part in strengthening internal controls, risk management and governance. You will work closely with senior management to ensure financial and operational processes are robust and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial and operational controls.
• Identify risks, propose practical mitigation measures and follow up on implementation.
• Prepare detailed audit reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
• Assist in developing and executing audit plans and strategies.
• Analyse financial statements to pinpoint improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in accounting or auditing (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Proven internal audit experience within the business services sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
