Legal Officer – Bradford

About the role

The Legal Officer will join the First‑tier Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber team at the Bradford Tribunal Hearing Centre. Working within a Regional Hearing Centre, you will help deliver justice by managing complex case work and supporting the national administration of tribunals.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake complex case assessment and make informed case‑management decisions.
• Support the effective administration of tribunals business on a national scale.
• Liaise with internal HMCTS colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure timely case progression.
• Apply delegated judicial powers under supervision of a Senior Legal Officer.
• Maintain impartiality and evidence‑based decision‑making throughout the process.

Required profile

• Ability to reflect on issues and take an impartial, evidence‑based approach.
• Confident communicator capable of engaging with a wide range of court users and stakeholders.
• Willingness to work independently while collaborating with a wider team.
• Law degree or equivalent technical experience demonstrating decision‑making aptitude.
• Commitment to an office‑based role at the Bradford Tribunal Hearing Centre.
