Technician - Signalling Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a motivated, safety‑focused Technician to join our Signalling Maintenance team in the Southern Region. You will support the Team Leader in delivering high‑quality work, ensuring the railway signalling network operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, fault‑finding, maintenance and renewal work on signalling equipment.
• Ensure tools, vehicles and equipment are fit for use and properly maintained.
• Accurately record completed work and maintain essential documentation.
• Step in as Team Leader when required, motivating the crew and promoting a safety culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience planning and implementing safe systems of work.
• Strong team player able to embed safety practices.
• Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
• Relevant competencies (NVQ Level 1 or 2 or equivalent) and a valid driving licence.
