Accounts Payable Manager – Lead AP Team

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established manufacturing business in Manchester city centre to find an Accounts Payable Manager. You will lead a team of five AP clerks, own the end‑to‑end AP function and drive improvements in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. The role reports to the Finance Manager and will play a key part in ensuring the financial health of the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of five Accounts Payable Clerks.
• Oversee the full AP cycle, ensuring invoices, payments and supplier accounts are processed accurately and on time.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve queries or escalations.
• Identify and implement process improvements while upholding robust financial controls.
• Support month‑end close activities and reporting for the AP function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a high‑volume Accounts Payable environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage or mentor a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
