Accounts Payable Specialist – Temporary to Permanent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a well‑established organisation in Manchester City Centre. The role is offered on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis, providing an immediate start and the chance to secure a long‑term position within a collaborative finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match, batch and code invoices in line with company procedures.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding balances.
• Resolve supplier queries and invoice discrepancies promptly.
• Support weekly and monthly payment runs and maintain supplier account records.
• Process employee expenses and company credit‑card transactions.
• Collaborate with Procurement and internal departments to resolve purchasing issues.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives across the Contract‑to‑Pay function.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or a similar finance role.
• Experience in a Contract‑to‑Pay (C2P) or Shared Service environment is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to manage a high‑volume workload and meet deadlines.
• Immediately available or able to start at short notice.
