Audit Manager – Internal Audit (Bristol)

About the role

Imperial Brands is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its Internal Audit team in Bristol. You will play a visible, impactful role shaping risk understanding and management across the Group, delivering independent, insight‑led assurance while supporting the development of colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver internal audits in line with the annual IA programme, ensuring professional standards.
• Plan, scope and coordinate audit assignments, collaborating with senior audit managers and key stakeholders.
• Manage and review audit work performed by team members, co‑source partners and guest auditors, providing coaching and guidance.
• Identify risks, root causes and systemic issues, challenge the business appropriately and deliver value‑adding recommendations.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and support the implementation of agreed actions.
• Contribute to departmental objectives through leadership, reporting, continuous improvement initiatives and deputising for senior management when required.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent experience.
• Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA).
• Strong financial audit experience with at least one year of audit‑management responsibility.
• Proven experience in data analytics and IT General Controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
