Civil Engineer – Highways & Drainage Design

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join a forward‑thinking consultancy delivering major residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments across the UK. The role offers exposure to complex infrastructure schemes, from local improvements to multi‑million‑pound projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with highways design to S38 and S278 standards.
• Prepare adoptable drainage designs to S104 and S98 requirements.
• Contribute to SuDS layouts, earthworks assessments and external works design.
• Produce technical reports, design statements and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies and internal design teams.
• Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Develop technical capability with structured support toward Chartership.

Required profile

• HND, HNC or degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• UK consultancy experience in highways and drainage design.
• Confident using AutoCAD and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Strong communicator with a proactive approach to learning.
• Keen to progress professionally with mentoring and support.
