Continuous Improvement Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will drive process optimisation and operational efficiency within an industrial and manufacturing environment in Birmingham. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the role focuses on identifying, implementing and monitoring improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Analyse current workflows and recommend optimisation solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of process changes.
• Monitor key performance indicators to assess the impact of improvements.
• Provide training and guidance on continuous improvement methodologies.
• Develop and maintain documentation for new and updated processes.
• Support compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Utilise data‑driven approaches to identify cost‑reduction and efficiency opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in industrial or manufacturing processes.
• Green Belt Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with value stream mapping, Kaizen, SMED, FMEA, step process, 5S, process flows and lean audits.
• Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
