About the role
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join the Digital & Technology department of the British Council. The role will shape the organisation’s enterprise technology strategy, ensuring it delivers business value and supports the digital transformation agenda.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise technology strategy, architecture and delivery across the organisation.
- Manage three functional teams: Architecture, Engineering and Product.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align technology initiatives with corporate priorities.
- Drive innovation and ensure the British Council remains at the forefront of the digital landscape.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading large‑scale technology programmes and teams.
- Strong ability to balance complex technical demands with business needs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
