Data Engineer

About the role

Data and Reporting is an integral part of NCC Group’s data strategy. As a Data Engineer you will support the delivery of a scalable data intelligence platform in Azure, enabling predictive analytics and AI to uncover actionable insights for mission‑focused decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain the central Data Platform, ensuring its availability and performance.
• Build data pipelines to connect APIs, files, databases, and data streams.
• Define and embed data quality measures within pipelines.
• Ensure data integrity, monitoring, and alerting are integrated into solutions.
• Create and manage build and deployment pipelines.
• Enhance and support the data warehouse.
• Collaborate with analysts to translate requirements into solutions.
• Contribute to the overall design of the Data Platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the tech industry.
• Experience implementing data solutions in a Microsoft Azure environment using native technologies and SQL Server toolsets.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• Experience in a relevant sector is a plus.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure (including MS Fabric, Data Factory, Azure Synapse)
• SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Studio, SSDT
• Python or PySpark for scripting and automation
• CI/CD approaches for data platforms
• ETL tools and dimensionally modelled databases
