Elective Bookings Officer – NHS Hospital

About the role

The Elective Bookings Officer joins the Gynaecology Waiting List Bookings Team to coordinate elective inpatient bookings for a busy NHS hospital. Working 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis, you will help ensure patients receive timely appointments throughout their care pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule and confirm elective procedures across the gynaecology department.
• Maintain accurate patient data and booking records in line with local and national targets.
• Handle internal and external telephone enquiries with professionalism.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve booking issues.
• Support the smooth operation of the waiting‑list management system.

• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail, especially when recording patient information.
