About the role
The Elective Bookings Officer joins the Gynaecology Waiting List Bookings Team to coordinate elective inpatient bookings for a busy NHS hospital. Working 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis, you will help ensure patients receive timely appointments throughout their care pathway.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule, reschedule and confirm elective procedures across the gynaecology department.
- Maintain accurate patient data and booking records in line with local and national targets.
- Handle internal and external telephone enquiries with professionalism.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve booking issues.
- Support the smooth operation of the waiting‑list management system.
Required profile
- Strong organisational and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, especially when recording patient information.
