Employment Advisor – Youth Team (London)

About the role

Unity Works is seeking an Employment Advisor for its Youth Team in Southwark, London. You will work directly with young people aged 16‑25, helping them navigate the entire employment journey from initial guidance to securing a role.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred advice, develop individual action plans and set realistic employment goals.
• Prepare young people for the workplace through skills development, interview coaching and on‑the‑job support.
• Build and maintain relationships with inclusive employers to create job and internship opportunities.
• Manage a caseload, monitor progress and adjust support strategies to achieve outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to inclusion and equal access to employment for people with learning disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate and build confidence in young adults.
• Flexibility, creativity and problem‑solving ability when balancing a varied caseload.
• Ability to develop positive partnerships with employers, partners and service users.
