Entry-Level Vessel Operator – RORO Division

About the role

This entry-level position supports a leading global shipping group’s RORO division in London. You will work closely with vessel masters, port agents, stevedores and global offices to ensure smooth and cost‑effective voyages across Europe and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end vessel operations across multiple trades, ensuring efficient and cost‑effective voyages.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for masters, agents and service providers throughout each voyage.
• Oversee transhipment cargo arrangements, cost accruals and invoice processing.
• Coordinate bunker supplies, weather routing and schedule updates.
• Monitor agent performance and provide recommendations.
• Support monthly P&L reporting and maintain operational databases.
• Liaise daily with head office in Tokyo and a global network of offices.

Required profile

• Prior experience in RORO operations or a similar vessel operations environment (preferred).
• Background in port agency or shipping is a strong advantage.
• Ambitious about a career in shipping and operations.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented approach with solid cost awareness.
• Comfortable with occasional out‑of‑hours communication due to global operations.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
