Facilities Engineer

About the role

A fantastic opportunity for a strong Facilities Engineer / Maintenance Engineer within a major food manufacturing business. You will look after critical site services and utilities, providing stability, development and progression in a supportive engineering function.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault‑finding, planned preventative maintenance and project work across a range of site facilities.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, maximise equipment uptime and support the wider engineering department.

Required profile

• Electrical or multi‑skilled maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Engineering qualification (minimum Level 3, electrical preferred) and strong understanding of PUWER, LOLER, PAT, COSHH and Electricity at Work.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and work effectively within a small facilities team.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance and fault‑finding (single‑phase and three‑phase).
• Motors and inverter knowledge.
• HVAC / BMS systems.
• Ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Compressed air, effluent/DAF plants and water cooling towers.
• CMMS experience (e.g., Shire, SAP, COSWIN).
• IOSH/HSE training, Legionella awareness, IPAF/PASMA/Forklift operation.
• Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement mindset.
