Facilities Maintenance Handyman – Commercial Property

About the role

We are seeking a dependable, practically‑minded Facilities Maintenance Handyman to join our team at a commercial property on the outskirts of Great Dunmow. This full‑time, permanent position involves day‑to‑day repairs, grounds upkeep and liaison with commercial tenants, ensuring a safe and well‑presented site.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, painting and general fixes.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and prioritize work to minimise tenant disruption.
• Oversee larger repair or refurbishment projects carried out by specialist contractors.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activity in the property management system.
• Cut and maintain grass, prune trees, hedges and shrubs, and perform seasonal grounds tasks such as leaf clearance and weed control.
• Maintain paths, car parking areas and external communal spaces in a safe, tidy condition.
• Act as the primary on‑site contact for commercial tenants regarding maintenance and repair requests.
• Inspect vacated units, produce condition reports and identify works needed to return units to lettable standard.
