About the role

Arup is inviting expressions of interest from professionals who want to contribute to its UK fire safety business. The role offers the chance to work on high‑profile projects, from heritage restorations to innovative timber constructions, within a collaborative, hybrid‑working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fire safety engineering services for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Arup’s 20 offices.
• Participate in cutting‑edge fire safety research and development of digital tools.
• Support the preparation of fire safety documentation in line with UK legislation.
• Engage with academia and industry partners to address emerging fire hazards.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer status (or close to achieving it) with a relevant institution such as the Institution of Fire Engineers.
• Degree qualification in fire engineering, another engineering discipline, or architecture.
• Significant experience in a fire engineering consultancy or a comparable environment.
• Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation and the new regulatory regime.

Required skills

• Fire engineering design and analysis.
