Highways Engineer – Birmingham (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Highways Engineer to join our Birmingham team, working on a variety of highway and infrastructure projects. The role is hybrid, with two days per week in the office and occasional travel to sites.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake feasibility studies and detailed design of highway maintenance schemes using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines within Common Data Environments.
• Develop engineering options considering safety, reliability and environmental factors.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications and design calculations.
• Contribute to fee estimates, design programmes and tender documents.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Highways Engineering or Transportation.
• Relevant post‑graduate experience in highways design, working towards chartered status with ICE, CIHT or IHE.
• Experience with AutoCAD and related design software.
