Host – Luxury Hotel Front‑of‑House

About the role

White Rabbit Hospitality is seeking a personable Host for Rusacks St Andrews, a five‑star landmark perched above the 18th fairway of the Old Course. As the first point of contact, you will set the tone for every guest’s experience, welcoming visitors to the hotel, The Bridge rooftop bar, and Restaurant 18.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests with warmth and confidence, creating a memorable first impression.
• Manage the reservations book using SevenRooms (or equivalent), balancing cover numbers with service standards.
• Coordinate walk‑ins, wait‑lists, and seating in real time alongside front‑of‑house and management teams.
• Handle guest communications, confirmations, special requests, dietary notes, and allergen information.
• Build relationships with regulars, hotel residents, and visiting guests to foster loyalty.
• Answer phone and email enquiries professionally, converting interest into bookings.
• Support private dining, events, and peak golf‑season service periods.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a front‑of‑house or hospitality host role.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to read the room and anticipate guest needs.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Commitment to the brand values of hospitality, integrity, excellence, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SevenRooms reservation system (or similar platform).
