Housekeeper – Hospital Environment

About the role

Join the dedicated housekeeping team at Wellesley Hospital, a 101‑bed mental health facility in Wellington, Somerset. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the service, including wards, bedrooms, office spaces and visitor areas.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all spaces are spotless and meet high standards.
• Follow hospital security policies and procedures.
• Greet visitors professionally and maintain excellent telephone etiquette.
• Build positive working relationships with staff, visitors and service users.
• Undertake any additional tasks appropriate to the role.
• Attend mandatory and statutory training annually.

Required profile

• Previous experience cleaning in a similar healthcare or institutional environment.
• Enjoy cleaning and take pride in a job well done.
• Ability to prioritize duties effectively.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Capable of spotting and resolving problems efficiently.
