Housing & Tenancy Officer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are recruiting a Housing & Tenancy Officer for a large London local authority. The role is hybrid, with 2‑3 days on‑site in South Croydon and the remainder working from home. You will manage a portfolio of around 690 properties, delivering a high‑quality, customer‑focused housing service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a patch of tenancies and leasehold matters, ensuring compliance with tenancy conditions.
• Investigate and resolve anti‑social behaviour cases, working with residents and partner agencies.
• Conduct tenancy audits, property and estate inspections, and pre‑termination visits.
• Support residents to sustain tenancies and access appropriate services.
• Prepare legal casework and take enforcement action where required.
• Identify and coordinate environmental and estate improvement actions.
• Respond to enquiries from elected members, resident groups, solicitors and the public.
• Build effective relationships with police, health services, support agencies and community groups.
• Monitor communal repairs, health and safety issues and estate standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience delivering housing management services in a social housing environment.
• Strong knowledge of housing and anti‑social behaviour legislation.
• Experience managing tenancy, leasehold issues and enforcement actions.
• Ability to investigate and manage ASB cases effectively.
• Excellent customer service, communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work independently.

• Competitive hourly rate: £22.41‑£29.72 (PAYE or Umbrella).
