In-house Corporate and Commercial Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for an experienced in‑house Corporate and Commercial Legal Counsel to join our client’s London office. Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Commercial, you will act as a trusted legal adviser, supporting the business on a wide range of commercial matters and contract negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and execute commercial transactions, including sales and procurement contracts.
• Negotiate and draft various commercial agreements such as sales contracts, supplier contracts, hosting agreements, data transfer agreements and NDAs.
• Determine the most appropriate medium for delivering legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Respond to internal queries on data issues, overdue payments, IP matters and disputes.
• Identify data‑related risks and negotiate data‑processing terms to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Engage and manage external lawyers when specialist advice is required.
• Deliver clear, commercially focused advice that mitigates business risk.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Commercially astute and pragmatic, with a strong understanding of business and legal risk.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract law and a track record of managing transactions.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
