Lecturer in Social Sciences

About the role

Bath College is seeking enthusiastic Lecturers in Social Sciences to join its inclusive teaching community. You will contribute to high‑quality learning across FE, HE, T‑Levels and adult programmes, supporting students from entry level to Level 5.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of teaching and learning in line with awarding body requirements.
• Develop and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans and learning materials.
• Monitor and record formative and summative assessments for the course team.
• Coordinate external examination entry, timetabling and communicate arrangements to students.
• Support personal development curriculum, enrichment activities and tutor support.
• Contribute to the development of new programmes and continuous improvement of existing courses.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Criminology, Law or a related subject.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification.
• GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality‑assurance standards of awarding bodies and the College.
• Evidence of delivering good to outstanding learning experiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams for collaboration and e‑learning.

What we offer

• Permanent full‑time contract (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).
• Salary range £30,348 – £40,016 per year, dependent on experience.
