Director of Quality

About the role

The Director of Quality will lead Bath College’s quality improvement and assurance framework, ensuring readiness for inspection and alignment with strategic performance indicators. Reporting to the Corporate Leadership Group, this senior position shapes a culture of continuous improvement across all funding streams.

Key responsibilities

• Strategically lead the college’s quality cycle and inspection readiness.
• Collaborate with curriculum management teams to embed continuous improvement practices.
• Monitor and analyse key performance outcomes, including achievement and value‑added metrics.
• Develop and implement policies that guarantee high‑quality education for learners and apprentices.
• Represent the college in external quality and inspection forums.

Required profile

• Degree level qualification or equivalent senior experience.
• Qualified teacher training (Cert.Ed./PGCE) or equivalent.
• Minimum three years teaching or training experience.
• At least three years in quality improvement or teaching‑learning enhancement roles.
• Proven track record of raising standards and developing staff.
• Exceptional expectations of staff and learners with a drive for continual improvement.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and data‑interpretation abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment pedagogy.
• Excellent understanding of inspection practice and the renewed inspection framework.
• Effective people management and communication skills.

• Competitive salary £63,184 – £72,962 per year.
