Mechanical Design Engineer – Hybrid – Bristol

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a global engineering leader in Bristol. The role involves delivering design solutions within a multi‑discipline team, supporting the development of innovative products.

Key responsibilities

• Verify designs meet requirements and relevant standards through calculation or testing.
• Design and develop sub‑assemblies, ensuring quality, cost and schedule targets are achieved.
• Produce detailed documentation including models, drawings, BOMs and test data.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to support product development.

Required profile

• Mechanical‑focused engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Several years of post‑graduation experience in product development and design for manufacture/assembly.
• Familiarity with a range of engineering materials and manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to work to deadlines and maintain accurate design records.

Required skills

• 3D/2D CAD proficiency (CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar).
• Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics.
• Experience with design for manufacture and assembly principles.
