Operations Manager – Logistics

About the role

DPD UK is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its depot management team in Guildford. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering outstanding service to customers while meeting ambitious targets for cost, safety, productivity and transport performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the depot, ensuring service standards are met.
• Drive improvements in cost efficiency, health & safety, security and productivity.
• Recruit, develop and retain staff, managing employee relations and compliance.
• Manage the depot P&L through effective planning, reporting and budgeting.
• Analyse performance data, identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Ensure the depot operates 365 days a year, covering any of the five shift patterns, including weekends.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in logistics, warehouse or distribution environments.
• Proven ability to lead fast‑paced operations and motivate high‑performing teams.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record of using data to drive improvements.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities.

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
