About the role
The University of the Arts London is looking for an experienced People and Culture Consultant to join its People and Culture department. In this senior role you will provide professional, solutions‑focused advice to managers and staff, supporting a wide range of people‑management matters across the university.
Key responsibilities
- Provide professional, solutions‑focused advice to managers and staff across UAL.
- Manage complex employee‑relations cases, including investigations, appeals and tribunals.
- Support organisational change initiatives and the implementation of policies and programmes.
- Ensure consistent application of UAL policies and processes in line with university values.
- Collaborate with the People and Culture team on both operational and strategic matters.
Required profile
- Significant experience advising in complex, unionised environments.
- CIPD qualification (preferred).
- Proven track record handling sensitive employee‑relations casework.
- Experience working with recognised trade unions or staff associations.
- Ability to balance organisational risk with employee experience.
Required skills
- Strong communication and influencing abilities.
- Proficiency with HR information systems and data management.
What we offer
- Permanent full‑time contract (35 hours per week).
- Hybrid working between UAL High Holborn and home.
- Competitive salary £44,375‑£52,977 per annum.
