Pharmacy Assistant – HMP Belmarsh

About the role

We are seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the pharmacy team at HMP Belmarsh, a Category A maximum‑security prison in London. You will work Monday‑Friday, 9:00‑17:00, supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivering safe, efficient pharmaceutical services to inmates and prison staff.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general dispensary duties and manage stock levels.
• Provide timely pharmacy services to prison wings, including receiving prescriptions and handling returns.
• Collect orders from suppliers and arrange the return of stock.
• Participate in the dispensing of prescriptions as part of the pharmacy team.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo security vetting.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Non‑judgmental, compassionate attitude suitable for a secure environment.

• ProScript – essential.
• SystmOne – desirable.
• Medicines handling – desirable.
