About the role

Join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy as a Principal Flood Risk Consultant, based in Birmingham. You will steer flood risk management projects across sectors such as aviation, defence and water, delivering innovative mitigation solutions while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical work in hydraulic modelling, hydrology and GIS.
• Mentor and guide junior staff in flood risk management.
• Ensure quality assurance for all technical deliverables.
• Develop and test project solutions for flood mitigation.
• Manage and supervise junior resources.
• Support project managers with financial and change‑control activities.
• Engage in business development, tendering and client interaction.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in flood risk analysis and project delivery.
• Proficiency in 1D‑2D modelling using InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW and Flood Modeller.
• Strong GIS expertise with ArcGIS, QGIS and MapInfo.
• Solid background in hydrological assessment and UK hydrology.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing technical teams.
• Excellent decision‑making and organisational abilities.
