Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer to join a long‑standing, family‑run company serving commercial clients across Manchester and the surrounding area. The role involves diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and performing scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of cooling and ventilation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve faults in refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment.
• Execute routine preventive maintenance and document all work performed.
• Maintain accurate records for reactive and planned maintenance activities.
• Liaise with commercial clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to health & safety procedures and site‑specific requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning Engineer.
• Minimum Refrigeration Handling C&G 2079 (F‑Gas) certification.
• Full UK driving licence and a clean Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Refrigeration Handling C&G 2079 (F‑Gas) certification.
• Experience with refrigeration systems such as fridges, freezers, display cabinets, cold‑rooms and chillers.
• Knowledge of split air‑conditioning, VRV and air handling unit (AHU) systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Competence in preventive maintenance procedures and documentation.
